It’s been a looooong week. Not in a bad way but just long because of the hours involved. I was in the VMware Infrastructure 3: Fast Track Program class at MicroTek in King of Prussia. The course basically compresses two individual week long courses into one week comprised of ten hour lectures and labs. Then to top that off I came into work at my normal time so I had an average of three additional hours to the course time bringing the daily total to an average of 13 hours a day. Since the course finished at around 6:00 that meant that the commute home would not be a serene as the one in the morning… We had some freezing rain on Wednesday and that led to a three hour drive to cover 45 miles… See what I mean by long days?
At least the class was very good. I learned a lot about Virtual Infrastructure and all of its components and methods. I have a lot of new work to do now at the office with out existing IBM Blade Center based VI infrastructure. The two instructors that taught the course were great and they kept the class engaged and involved. That really helped to get the material down as well as really being able to squeeze out the real kernels of information that comes from their experiences. The guys in the class were also a nice mix and the general feel of the class as a whole was convivial.
Now I am looking forward to the coming week to digging back into regular work.
