Looking back

It really doesn’t seem like forty years . I certainly don’t feel any different today after having crossed that almost middle age threshold… I suppose that can be attributed to the “frog in boiling water” analogy right ?

No really big changes going on. Just the every day normal goings on. Lots of work projects that just keep popping up along with a raft of the every day activities as well. One small annoyance :wtf: that’s been nipping at me is the fact that I can get the “Desktop Effects” working on my notebook after I upgraded from Gutsy to Hardy. I’ve tried the NVidia distributed drivers but had a hell of a time getting them to compile in such as way as not to keep crashing when they’re loaded. I’ve dropped back to the Ubuntu restricted-drivers set again but I am still struggling with getting it to work the way I had it working in Gutsy. …sigh… Ah well. Would that all future problems will be as trivial. I’ll work on it some this weekend and see what I can get going.

Shirley and I are both looking forward to going to see Speed Racer this weekend. The visuals look really nice and I am hoping that the plot and story line will be able to hold up as well.

Ah. I’ve lingered too long. Time to get back into it. It’s our monthly IT Breakfast this morning and I need to get some more stuff done before that starts.
