Comment Posting Policy
Most entries on this site allow for comments. Before posting, you should be aware that any such comments are subject to moderation. The rules are as follows:
Spam
If a comment is believed to be posted solely for the purpose of advertising of a site or service, the comment is deleted without notice. In case a message is considered spam, the IP address will also be blocked from making further comments to this site.
If comments are on-topic for any particular subject, but the signature URL is believed to serve the same purpose as normal comment spam, the comment may be kept, but the URL in question will be deleted.
Off-topic comments
If a comment has no relevance to either the posting which it is a reply to, or to any other comments within the same entry, it is deleted without notice.
Duplicate comments
If a comment is posted multiple times, the newest comment is kept, and all older versions are deleted without notice.
Flames and personal attacks
A comment that primarily is a personal attack against anyone is deleted without notice.
Logical fallacies
Please note that logical fallacies may be regarded as flames, and treated as such.
Open comment period
Normally, an entry in this blog is open for commenting up to one week after the entry itself has been published, after which the entry will be closed, and no further comments may be added.
Comment formatting
You are free to, within reasonable limits, use Textile and HTML formatting for comments. If this use of text formatting compromises the validity of the markup, or it breaks the layout, or it detracts from the document structure, the comment will be edited.
Comments with ASCII Art and/or the use of excessive spacing between letters will be edited. Instead of using spacing to indicate emphasis, commenters are encouraged to instead use the _ and * modifiers from Textile around words. Example:
* _Emphasis_ becomes Emphasis
* *Strong* becomes Strong
Trackbacks are considered remote comments, and are subject to the same moderation rules.
