for Jessica K: That sounds odd. Typically those of us with ADD or ADHD have the opposite reaction to stimulants. I am on Adderall now and other substances like caffeine tend to settle me rather than make me anxious. Not too sure about the insomnia. I'll ask my elder daughter if she experiences it. The duration of 10 hours also seems kinda long. Then again all of our own physiologies are different. No one wonder drug can do it all as advertised.

When it comes down to the choice of whether or not to medicate, for us it was about more than just what 'our feelings' were on the subject. In our view, we understood that there would be problems but then there would be problems if we didn't. Which of the problems would be worse? We decided that the criticality of establishing a good education as a foundation for their future was more important than some of the other issues which we could cope with. We can't replay back the time we lose so we chose to make the time we were spending to count more.

Does that make some sense?

I am having a hard time with the ADHD diagnosis my 5 year old son was given....It was just difficult to hear. He was diagnosed last week, and we're already trying our 2nd medication. He was given Focalin XR, and an hour after taking it, he began talking in circles, walking in circles, smacking his lips uncontrollably, and he was very easily upset. He was jittery and anxious, and I was scared and worried the entire day as I was waiting for it to wear off. After about 10 hours, he seemed like himself again, but that night, he only slept a total of 41/2 hours. I called my pediatrician, and she told me to decrease the dose by 1/2. Um, no. I didn't give it to him, and told her I was uncomfortable doing so. So, she prescribed him Clonidine, which is used for lowering blood pressure, but has been used lately for ADHD. It's a sedative rather than a stimulant.....so, I guess we'll see how it works. the most common side effect is drowsiness.....I don't want to have my child on meds at all....but he is having such a difficult time....i just don't know what to do....

You know, I have to tell you, I really enjoy this blog and the insight from everyone who participates. I find it to be refreshing and very informative. I wish there were more blogs like it. Anyway, I felt it was about time I posted, I?ve spent most of my time here just lurking and reading, but today for some reason I just felt compelled to say this.

[...] Coach Burk posted a noteworthy aricle today onHere’s a small snippetFor someone to assume that they know him and what happened in the game from an article by a man who has never met Coach or our team is wrong. He is a good man, who strives to do his best in every aspect of life. … Further Coach Grimes is an amazing Coach and a devout Christian. He has improved my game 100% and I will always give him the credit. I love him with all my heart; he started this family, he is the head of this family, so without him there would be no family. … [...]

I read elsewhere that disabling QOS in the list of items used by the network connection and a reboot will stop the COM+ error. I'd be interested in hearing if that's true, because I see this happening on a number of computers, but it doesn't seem to have any impact other than the logged error.
